Charges laid for cannabis distribution

News release

On September 12, 2019, Kings District RCMP searched a marihuana storefront on Commercial St. in Middleton. Police seized cash, cheques, CBD oils, cannabis, individually packaged shatter, and cannabis edibles. A residence in Hammonds Plains that is associated to a person involved in this incident was also searched at the same time. During that search, police seized cash, hashish, mushrooms, shatter, CBD oil, and cannabis. Police also searched a storage locker in Dartmouth at the same time but did not seize anything.

Heidi Amber Chartrand, 34, of Hammonds Plains is charged with two counts of Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution under the Cannabis Act and also two counts of Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code. She appeared in Digby Provincial Court on September 13 and was released. She is scheduled to return to court on October 9.

The investigation is ongoing.
