Serving Alberta's Communities
Public trust is the RCMP’s most precious commodity. The foundation of this trust is built upon the dedicated and professional police service Albertans see in their communities every day. Along with ensuring the safety and security of Albertans, RCMP employees are often very active community members in the areas they serve.
Our members devote countless hours of volunteer time to provide a red serge presence at community events throughout Alberta. These public appearances are a genuine expression of their pride in the RCMP and of their gratitude to the citizens who support them in their work. Red serge events also provide our members with an opportunity to experience firsthand the public’s overwhelming support for the RCMP. Participation in these events can be a powerful thing that serves to instill personal pride and boost esprit de corps – which is the glue that binds the RCMP organization together here in Alberta and across Canada.
