On Jan. 12, 2024, Jasper RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services and Edson RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit, executed a search warrant at a Jasper residence. The 6-month-long investigation, assisted by RCMP Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, focused on the distribution of illicit street drugs in the Jasper community.

Since the last release, the drugs have been analysed and confirmed as being Cocaine, Methamphetamine, MDMA and Ketamine.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old individual, a resident of Jasper, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x4)
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under 5000$.

Furthermore, a 38-year-old individual, a resident of Jasper, was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Both individuals were released on conditions and charges have been approved by the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service. They are to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Jasper on April 11, 2024.

On Jan. 12, 2024, Jasper RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services and Edson RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit, executed a search warrant at a Jasper residence. The 6-month-long investigation, assisted by RCMP Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, focused on the distribution of illicit street drugs in the Jasper community.

As a result of the search warrant, multiple items were seized, including:

  • Suspected cocaine;
  • Suspected methamphetamines;
  • Suspected fentanyl;
  • Two shotguns;
  • Three rifles;
  • Two handguns;
  • Two replica handguns; and
  • One conducted energy weapon;

Two Jasper residents are currently facing multiple charges, which are pending crown approval. An additional release is anticipated once charges are approved and laid.
